These are three different versions that I have messed around with for this Visual Sequential Narrative project. I am trying to flesh out a single concept out of these images and resolve how to use them to create a narrative.
I think your concept of combining your self portraits is really unique and interesting. The only thing is when they're all placed on top of each other it's hard to tell that that is what you're doing. I think to convey a sense of narrative it would be better to have them all placed separately in some way that is still visually pleasing. I know that sounds easier than it is to do but I know you can do it! Also I really like the texture you have going on in the background; you can probably implement that somewhere.
I think the self portraits is an interesting concept and since they're paintings I think you should definitely try to keep that same feeling and texture throughout the images when turning them into the graphic iterations so that the final images feel unified. It could be cool if you did something where you use one self portrait for each iteration (however many you want) and played with trying to convey a different feeling or something specific about yourself with each one cause it would be telling us a story about who you are. Totally just a suggestion though and I know you'll figure it out!
The textures you're getting are awesome, I feel like they would come through even more, especially on the last image, if you used some blending modes, id be interested to see what colors show up. Keep up the good work!
I think a concept you can come up with is for that 3rd image is one of identity. I think there are so many people in this world that fake who they are to certain people and i think if you take that concept and run with it on the 3rd one you will be able to create some really cool and meaningful content.
I think the image you have created is very beautiful however i dont think your visual narrative is really communicated. I would try to emphasize the transitions of the portraits maybe with blending modes.
From Cameron I love the texture and feel from these self-portraits! I think you could make it cool with backgrounds and blending modes while trying to convey what you want to with these painted like images.
